Function and endurance tests for product development often need to be carried out under truly realistic conditions. Our Ex thermal chamber enables not only highly dynamic temperature simulations but also the operation of non-explosion-protected test specimens with hazardous substances such as gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas, ammonia, methanol, or hydrogen. This is made possible by inerting the test environment using an ignition protection gas such as nitrogen. In contrast to conventional gas detection systems, maximum safety with extremely fast response times is achieved through the principle of pressurized enclosure according to IEC 60079-2. Thanks to external temperature control and the use of explosion-protected protection systems and devices certified according to IECEx and ATEX (Equipment Group II, Temperature Class T3, Explosion Group IIC), the thermal chamber is free of potential ignition sources and compliant with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
