Our memberships with Bayern Innovativ
Through our membership in the “Bayern Innovativ” network, our customers benefit from early access to new technologies and current market developments. We are part of the Energy Technology Cluster, the Health Cluster and the TechHub SVI (Security and Defense Industry).
Bayern Innovativ Gesundheit connects stakeholders from medical technology, research, clinics and start-ups to accelerate the transfer of innovations into practical healthcare applications. Through cross-industry collaboration, the network supports the integration of new technologies into medical products and processes. Its goal is to sustainably strengthen Bavaria as a healthcare location and actively support the journey from idea to market-ready solution.
The TechHub SVI provides the security and defense industry with an active network and extensive support in the fields of technology, innovation and project development. Its primary objective is to connect companies in the security and defense sector in Bavaria with scientific institutions, as well as with companies and start-ups from various industries.
Close collaboration with industry, research, start-ups and academic institutions enables us to quickly translate innovative approaches into practical machine and testing solutions. This allows us to turn complex customer requirements into more efficient, reliable and future-proof solutions. The result: shorter development cycles, greater planning reliability and a sustainable technological advantage.

Sonplas is part of the cluster “Mobility & Logistics”.
As a member of the cluster “Mobility & Logistics”, we provide our customers with early access to relevant technologies, as well as orientation and confidence in a rapidly evolving mobility landscape. Topics such as hydrogen, e-mobility and automation continuously present companies with new challenges – we help identify these at an early stage and turn them into opportunities.
Within the cluster, we are closely connected with industry partners, research institutions and technology leaders. The focus is not on theoretical exchange, but on concrete projects, collaborations and direct implementation. We also act as a host for the “Cluster vor Ort” networking event, inviting participants to our site in Straubing to exchange ideas, establish partnerships and develop joint projects.

Ensuring the future of your hydrogen projects: we are part of the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria
Hydrogen-based drive systems present stakeholders along the value chain with specific challenges: high safety requirements and complex regulatory frameworks meet limited experience in large-scale industrial application. The Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria therefore connects more than 400 representatives from industry, science and politics.
The focus lies on the industrial production of key hydrogen components, as well as on storage, logistics and applications in mobility. As a member of the Hydrogen Alliance Bavaria, we are not only familiar with these challenges, but can also demonstrate successfully completed projects in this field.

The BDSV: a strong environment for your projects in the security and defense industry
The BDSV (German Security and Defense Industry Association) represents the interests of the German security and defense industry and supports companies in a transforming economic sector, both nationally and internationally. With an extensive network across Germany, Europe and global markets, the BDSV provides valuable insights and serves as a central point of contact, connecting companies with policymakers, society, institutions and the media. The association’s objective is to maintain and strengthen the competitiveness and future viability of the industry, as well as Germany as a technology and business location, while actively promoting innovative solutions and supporting the sector worldwide.
Taking responsibility together: for a sustainable Straubing region
Straubing, as a region focused on renewable resources, pursues the goal of sustainable and intergenerational urban development. The regional economy plays a key role in achieving this. For this reason, the CSR-Netzwerk Straubing was established. By signing the voluntary commitment, we have joined the network together with other local companies to take responsibility for sustainable business practices. The network also provides a platform for exchange, workshops and dialogue with experts.

In addition, Sonplas is a member of European and international networks such as the European Defence Fund (EDF), the European Defence Agency, as well as the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) and the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC). These memberships provide us with access to up-to-date information, tenders and programs.
We actively engage in exchange at a European and international level on technological, economic and organizational topics, enabling us to assess and address developments across different markets together.
Promoting talent, enabling the innovations of tomorrow:
We support Formula Student teams.
Formula Student is an international engineering competition in which students independently design and build race cars and compete under real-world conditions. This hands-on approach combines technical expertise, teamwork and innovative thinking – exactly the skills that are essential in special-purpose machine engineering.
Sonplas therefore supports the Dynamics e.V. team of OTH Regensburg and the Fast Forest e.V. team of Deggendorf Institute of Technology as a sponsor. In addition to financial support for the manufacturing of components, we also provide technical guidance when needed, helping the teams further develop their ideas and implement them in practice. This creates a valuable collaboration that effectively combines talent development and innovation.
