Hubert Aiwanger visits Sonplas at automatica in Munich

Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger visited the Straubing-based company Sonplas during the automatica trade fair

At the special-purpose machine manufacturer’s booth at automatica, the leading international
trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics, project manager Christian Wachtmeister
welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister of Bavaria.

Wachtmeister told Hubert Aiwanger about the technological changes the special-purpose
machine manufacturer has undergone in recent years. These include the shift away from
existing technologies, such as injection molding, toward new technologies in electromobility,
such as power electronics and battery cell production.

The latest innovations and projects implemented by Sonplas GmbH in the fields of
electromobility, battery cell production, and hydrogen were also part of the discussion.
Aiwanger showed particular interest in the company’s new in-house hydrogen test
center, and at the end of the meeting, the two exchanged views on joint opportunities
and perspectives in the field of hydrogen.
