Emissions in Focus

Students from TUM Campus Straubing analyze the current emissions situation at Sonplas GmbH.

Climate neutrality in mechanical engineering is important. As a certified company in energy and environmental management, Sonplas GmbH is committed to continuously improve their environmental footprint. Because climate neutrality is the challenge of the 21st century, we have collaborated with TUM Campus Straubing and launched the project “The path to climate neutrality for a medium-sized company.”

Four students worked on the project. They examined the political framework, analyzed our current situation, and identified opportunities for improvement. They found out that we at Sonplas generate around 558 tons of CO2 annually. That is roughly equivalent to what 52 private individuals produce in a year. Naturally, we want to address this issue and continue to improve.

A big thank you goes to Prof. Dr. Sebastian Goerg and to Amelie, Anna-Lena, Katharina, and Sabrina for their great work.
