Combining Sustainability and Innovation at Sonplas

Last week, Sonplas GmbH welcomed young students from all over Bavaria as part of the “Technology Meets Environment” Camp. This program gave the participants the opportunity to experience firsthand how modern technologies can contribute to a sustainable future.

The focus was on electromobility: During the workshop at Sonplas, the participants first learned about the structure of an electric motor and explored the assembly of rotors, an essential component of electric drives.

The students then had the opportunity to try out various joining techniques used to assemble the shaft and laminated core of a rotor. From pressing components together manually using a vise to joining them through heating and cooling, and finally working with precision using an electromechanical press, the day provided a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop technical skills.
