TUM meets Sonplas
Research for tomorrow’s battery world
At the beginning of September, Sonplas GmbH welcomed Alena Gründl and Christian Geiger from the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) at the Technical University of Munich to our premises in Straubing. With their TUBE (TUM Battery Excellence Center) project, the team at the Technical University of Munich is working to create a comprehensive value chain for battery cells, thereby enabling forward-looking, industry-oriented research. Our laser cutting system will make an important contribution to this project. The system, which enables laser notching, slitting, and singulation, is nearing completion.
During their visit, our guests received an update on the progress of the system. Our visitors also had the opportunity to take a look at our battery technical center, where we offer customers proof-of-concepts and process developments in the field of laser cutting.
We are delighted about the collaboration and are very excited about the future research results.
